The full itinerary:
- Day 1: Marrakech ⇒ Atlas Mountains ⇒ Ouarzazate
our journey begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m), enjoying stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. Stop at the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for movies like Gladiator.
Continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” to visit the Atlas Film Studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight in a comfortable hotel in Ouarzazate.
- Day 2 : Ouarzazate ⇒ Dades Valley ⇒ Todra Gorges ⇒ Merzouga Desert (Luxury Camp)
After breakfast, journey through the Dades Valley and stop at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where dramatic cliffs rise over lush palm groves. Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossils, before arriving in Merzouga. Here, embark on a camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach your luxury desert camp.
Watch a magical sunset, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and experience Berber music under a starlit sky. Overnight in a private tent.
- Day 3 : Merzouga ⇒ Midelt ⇒ Fez
Wake early to witness a stunning sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 and begin your journey to Fez. Travel through the scenic Ziz Valley and enjoy a leisurely lunch in Midelt, a charming mountain town.
Continue through the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may spot playful Barbary macaques, and pass through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Arrive in Fez in the evening and check into your riad.
- Day 4 : Fez ⇒ Meknes ⇒ Volubilis ⇒ Chefchaouen
After breakfast, explore Fez, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart. Visit its UNESCO-listed medina, bustling souks, and landmarks like the Quaraouin Mosque and the Royal Palace gate. Continue to Meknes, an imperial city known for its grand Bab El-Mansour gate, Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
Next, visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its mosaics and historical significance. In the evening, arrive in the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen and settle into your riad.
- Day 5 : Chefchaouen Full Day
Spend the day exploring the enchanting streets of Chefchaouen, known for its blue-washed buildings and serene ambiance. Wander through the medina, shop for local crafts, and enjoy the breathtaking mountain views. This day offers a perfect blend of relaxation and cultural immersion. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
- Day 6 : Chefchaouen ⇒ Tangier
On the final day of your tour, travel to Tangier, Morocco’s gateway to Europe. Depending on your schedule, enjoy a guided tour of the city’s highlights, such as the Kasbah Museum, Medina, and the bustling Grand Socco. Conclude your journey with a drop-off at the Tangier airport, port, or back to Marrakech airport.
