- Day 1: Fez ⇒ Ifrane ⇒ Midelt ⇒ Ziz Valley ⇒ Merzouga Desert
Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Fez. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop in Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” known for its charming European-style architecture. Continue through cedar forests near Azrou, where you may spot playful Barbary macaques.
Journey onward to Midelt, nestled in the mountains, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch. The road then leads through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, with its palm-lined oases and picturesque views. Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, in the late afternoon. Embark on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and witness a spectacular sunset.
Spend the night in a luxury desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and the tranquility of the star-filled sky. Overnight in a private tent.
- Day 2 : Merzouga ⇒ Rissani ⇒ Erfoud ⇒ Ifrane ⇒ Fez
Wake up early to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes, a truly magical moment. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 and begin your journey back to Fez. Stop in Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional souks, and visit Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops.
Continue your drive through the scenic mountains and cedar forests, with another stop in Ifrane for a relaxing break.
Arrive back in Fez in the evening, concluding your memorable 2-day adventure.
